National Agility Champion and Eight Time Finalist Sarah Dow began training in agility in 1996, then in 1999 left behind both Chemistry and employment in the Petrochemical field to instruct agility full time. Sarah excels at working with dogs of all motivation levels, and helping every handler and dog achieve maximum potential through play training and positive reinforcement. Sarah's upbeat, outgoing, and friendly nature appeals to both human and canine students! Sarah's students have won numerous championship titles and several of them have enjoyed success being known as "Number One" in their respective breeds in AKC competition.
Sarah's education as a dog trainer: studied extensively since 1998 with Susan Garrett, since 1999 with Greg and Laura Derrett, since 2003 with Susan Salo, and attended chicken camps taught by Bob Bailey.
Sarah believes having fun and being consistent are keys to success in agility. All of Sarah's competition dogs qualified for USDAA Nationals and ran as either quarterfinalists, semifinalists, or finalists every year since she began attending nationals in 1999. Sarah was the only competitor at the 2006 USDAA World Cynosport Games to go to the finals in two separate events, agility and flyball.
Sarah became an AKC agility judge in 2000 and keeps an active judging schedule. Sarah is a member of APDT, Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
In 2009 Sarah graduated from the Northwest School of Animal Massage and now massages dogs. Sarah also boards dogs too.
