Flyball Instruction at LoneStar Agility Center

Above is a picture of the Lone Star Ruffnecks flyball team, Blues Brothers, FINALISTS at the First NAFA National Championship, held in conjunction with the 2006 USDAA World Cynosport Games in Scottsdale, AZ. Left to right are Sam Ford (Linecaller), Caroline Vaughan (Mimosa), Terrie O'Connor (Imp), Michelle Rudisill (Goose), Sarah Dow (Flip, Sweep), and Chester Beans (box loader).

Sarah became involved in flyball quite by accident, when an adult Border Collie trained for flyball, Logan (seen in photo to the right) found herself abandoned and homeless. Logan was going to be retired from flyball. Sarah felt sad for Logan and so began running flyball with her. Logan came to Sarah not knowing how to tug and as a 4.5 second flyball dog. Sarah spent several months teaching Logan to tug, and before long Logan ran her fastest time ever of 3.8 seconds. Logan and Sarah completed the 40K title in flyball. More importantly, Logan found a forever home and was a much loved and valued member of her family.

Running Logan was fun! It didn't take Sarah long to get hooked on flyball. Pretty soon Sarah began training her Jack Russell Terrier, Sparky, for flyball. Sparky runs as a height dog on her team. Sparky is known for her box turn, seen to the left. Sparky has her FMCh title and her fastest time is 4.6 seconds. (Photo courtesy of Fletcher Fotoworks)

To the left is a picture of Flip, Sarah's youngest Border Collie. Flip recently completed his FMX title and runs as start dog on the Ruffneck's fastest team, the "Blues Brother's" team. Flip's fastest time so far is 3.9 seconds. (Photo courtesy of Fletcher Fotoworks)

Sarah runs flyball in Region 5, on the Lone Star Ruffnecks flyball team with some of the greatest people.

At this time LoneStar Agility Center offers private lessons only for flyball instruction, we host group flyball classes occasionally as need warrants. Please contact us to inquire about rates and to schedule a lesson.
